The idea for The Postpartum Chef began years ago when I discovered Heng Ou’s book The First Forty Days. If you are familiar with the book you know how beautiful it is. The images, the nourishing recipes with unique ingredients, and the focus on postpartum care sparked something within me. I began cooking for friends who had given birth, I took a postpartum doula course and the seed for The Postpartum Chef was planted.

Fast forward five years to the arrival of our son, Leo. In the weeks before his birth, I dedicated myself to preparing for the postpartum journey, expecting it to be a time of transformation and challenge. I gathered recipes, made shopping lists, visited farmers' markets, and stocked up on everything I needed. I had the blessing of an incredible postpartum experience, with Tim cooking nourishing meals while I rested with our newborn.

At The Postpartum Chef, we believe that the transition into motherhood deserves celebration, care, and nourishment. Our mission is simple: we provide new mothers with freshly prepared, nutrient-dense meals that support postpartum recovery, enhance lactation, and promote overall well-being during this transformative time.

The Postpartum Chef is a collaboration between myself and my husband, Tim, a fine dining and private chef. Together, we’ve fine-tuned recipes that use food as medicine, Whether you’re healing from childbirth, navigating the emotional rollercoaster of motherhood, or simply craving a comforting meal, we’ve got you covered.
